The Earl of Elgin
12 MAR 08 Secretary of State for the Colonies
In my previous petitions, I have pointed out that I was accused and dismissed by the Capt. Supt. F. H. May, from the Hong Kong Police, without a trial, since my last petition. I learn that the said F. H. May, my accuser and now a Judge, was deputy Governor for the Colony of Hong Kong when my last petition was forwarded to that Colony, consequently adjudged by my accuser and Judge.
I was adjudged wrongfully dismissed, and I again plead that you will reconsider and grant me a pension as others have, having rendered what was always my honest and straightforward behaviour.
I remain your obedient Servant
